Isn’t Christmas a great time of the year? It’s the time when we all should take time out to reflect on the really important things in life and make an effort to re-connect with family and friends. And it isn’t only the few days of Christmas itself – Christmas time starts as soon as the first cards of your friends arrive in your mail box. It’s nice to know that someone, even when they live in a completely different part of the world, is thinking about you and telling you so.
Today we received a very special card from our friends at MYKITA, slightly late, but hey, does it really matter? Somehow this card stands out from the rest, not because it arrived late, but because it is missing the traditional Christmas theme jumping out at you (or so you think). Instead it simply says on the front (white letters on a gold background – very stylish, but I guess that gives it away just slightly):
“MYKITA & THE QRUESTA BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB”
The card has the shape of a CD cover, square, or so you think. When unfolded once, the following words greet you both, in German (MYKITA is based in Berlin) and in English. It says:
“With a musical greeting from the legendary Buena Vista Social Club MYKITA wishes you happy holidays and a happy New Year. *** Thank you!”
You unfold it even more and this is what it looks like from the inside:
Don’t you just looove MYKITA? The Social Club seems to!
