Providing great and personal service must be right on top of the list of our priorities. Often it’s the litlle things that are appreciated most. Thist doesn’t only include free replacement of screws and nose pads, it also includes fitting new lenses into customers own frames. This is sometimes required when the prescription of only 1 lens needs to be, or the current frame is still fairly new and satisfactory. When this “lens replacement service” is required our aim is to do it in a way so the customer is not without her/his glasses for too long. Ideally we would use our in-house fitting service. We carry many high quality anti-reflective coated lenses in stock, and if at all possible, we try to manufacture the required prscription “on the day”. If, due to the required prescription and/or lens design, we are unable to do this, we use our state of the art frame tracer. ... read more

Easy, because every Monday or Tuesday the emergencies arrive in our workshop for first aid treatment.Today is no different, in the contrary. After the long New Years Weekend, there seem to be a lot of “unlucky” glasses and sunglasses wearers about. Could be an indication that the partying did get out hand, who knows….. ... read more

The short answer is: we all wear spectacles by a small Danish company called Lindberg. You want to know why? Is it because they have a fancy label on the side that is “in”, “trendy” or whatever? Is it because they are so expensive that only the rich and famous can afford them? The answer to all those questions is no. It’s because with only 1.9 grams in weight, the frames would have to be the lightest and most comfortable frames one could wear. ... read more

The very first customer we had on the morning of May 20th, 2009 (the first day we were open for business) was a local lady who had lost one of the nosepads of her glasses. When she came into the shop, she looked slightly distressed and her glasses were sitting lopsided on her face. A very sore spot had already developed on the left side of her nose. She had been putting up with this for a number of days, simply because she thought she was in for a new frame and for a big expense. ... read more

“I sat on my glasses, are they fixable?” Questions like this are common in any optical practice. Often what seems to be an almost impossible task for the unlucky client, turns out to be a simple task for the trained optician. Mind you, sometimes glasses really are beyond repair after having been sat on. But in many cases they are repairable. Claudia and I believe that a good repair service should really be part of any optical shop that takes customer service seriously. ... read more
