The Hon. Phil Goff, leader of the opposition, visited Motueka today. The occasion was the opening of the new electorate office of Labour List MP Damien O’Connor. Mr. Goff spent most of the afternoon in the area and took the opportunity to visit, amongst others, Woollaston Estate, Mahana School, Motueka High School and Claudia K Opticians. These days we don’t see Mr. Goff wearing glasses any more, quite remarkable really.
On further investigation we found that back in the days where everything was black & white he did indeed wear glasses – big ones too (see photo we found on the Department of Corrections website). So, why does he not wear any glasses now? Probably because he hasn’t found the right frames yet! That is why we showed him a pair of Lindberg frames today. The frame, with an oblong lens, completely rimless with thin, stylish black titanium plate sides complement the shape of his face perfectly and doesn’t create a barrier between him and his audience. “You know, when I was still wearing glasses, all I could get was those big aviator shape frames. They just didn’t have anything nice like this” was his immediate comment.
