People sit on their glasses. Happens all the time. How can it happen? Easy! You are taking your glasses off and put them on your bed so you can slip your jumper on or off. Then you want to put on your sox and then your trainers. Ooops, there was something you forgot and yes, you can feel it on your bottom. You just sat on your glasses. Now they either broke or are badly out of shape.
Now, it’s at those occasions when it pays that you have chosen a good qiuality frame and good quality lenses. You don’t neccessarily have to choose a big bulky frame in order to get strength in a pair of glasss.
Even good quality rimless glasses can stand to a lot (although we do recommend to treat them with love and care (see this earlier post - here).
In the picture above you can see a pair of Lindberg Spirit frames that have been sat on. Looks bad, right? The left side points up into the air, while the right side has escaped un-harmed. In this case the investment in a great quality frame and a tough hi-density lens has certainly paid off. Many other frames and lenses would no doubt have broken. So why is it that the Lindberg Spirit didn’t break? Well, it is most definitely the actual construction of the frame (screw-less, rimless and very flexible) together with the immense toughness of good quality hi-Index lenses.
In this particular case we were able to re-align the frame with the right tools to it’s original shape within only 15 minutes.
