“I sat on my glasses, are they fixable?” Questions like this are common in any optical practice. Often what seems to be an almost impossible task for the unlucky client, turns out to be a simple task for the trained optician. Mind you, sometimes glasses really are beyond repair after having been sat on. But in many cases they are repairable. Claudia and I believe that a good repair service should really be part of any optical shop that takes customer service seriously.
In our workshop we are able to do most of the repairs ourselves. We have the right tools to “panelbeat” flattened frames. That includes the actual front and sides of the frames, as well as nosepad arms and so on. Should you be unlucky enough to actually have broken your frames we will assess the actual damage and advise on the best and most economical solution for you. Fortunately we also have welding equipment and are therefore able to do solder repairs where possible on the spot. For you that means that you won’t be without your glasses for long. The solder we use is silver solder and is, of course not lead based.
