The wait is almost over! We are getting ready to open the shop on Monday the 20th of April, 2009. Things are now certainly taking shape and are indeed coming together exactly as we had hoped. Here are some pictures intended to be a sneak preview. You will get a pretty good idea of the ambience in the shop.

The waiting area features 3 “Anna D” chairs that we thought would fit the overall design ambience really well. We wanted to get away from your usual tub chairs as being used in so many other waiting room.

This is part of the display gallery. Although not yet arranged properly, it will give you an idea of our display philosophy. The concept allows us to arrange individual frames as as well as small frame collections in such a way, that their stunning beauty can be appreciated best.

This way we are able to highlight specific design elements that contribute to the overall beauty and/or function of a particular frame.

Colours in the shop have been chosen to highlight the frame gallery. This was achieved by selecting a metalic white for the actual frame gallery, within dark grey and silver metallic cabinetry. The charcoal carpet adds to the overall ambience and allows for the metalic silver dispensing and reception pods to become independent design features of the store. These pods have been specifically designed to hold several hundred additional frames, as well as dispensing and IT tools that allow us to connect with frame and lens manufacturers where and when we need to.

The “sunshade” colour behind the reception pod, as well as some of the orange display stands, add a touch of freshness to the overall design.
